Translating Strategy into Action |
Attend Now |
| By Jeff Greenberg from Ergility Smart Processing Solutions |
Companies spend considerable resources to develop a strategy that defines their business in the marketplace. However, all too often these bold intentions do not represent the reality of product and service delivery. Companies have difficulty translating strategy into action often because their outward and forward looking strategy is difficult to relate to the here and now of operations. Decisions remain under-influenced by strategy and therefore often depart in impact from company intent.
* How to frame or augment your strategy to provide guidance within the company as in the marketplace.
* How to translate that strategy into guiding principles at each level of management so that everyone acts in alignment with strategy.
* And most importantly, How executives can inspire consistent, strategically aligned behavior by empowering employees to improve their effectiveness with relevant information. |

What is the Global Food Safety Initiative and How Does it Impact American Business in the Food Eco-System? |
Attend Now |
| By Gary Smith from the Safe Quality Food Institute |
| The Global Food Safety Initiative is a world wide effort to adopt measurable food safety standards. Retailers will accept “certificates of compliance” from suppliers to increase the probability that food was produced, stored, and transported in a safe manner. The GFSI vision of "once certified, accepted everywhere" will reduce the confusion of multiple standards and, in theory, will reduce cost throughout the supply chain. With the adoption by Wal-Mart and 6 other global retail leaders it is imperative that industry players understand the initiative, the time lines, and the requirements to comply with GSI approved standards starting now. |

Dump The Dead Stock |
Attend Now |
| By Activant |
Excess Inventory. Dead stock. Obsolete inventory. Surplus stock. Regardless of what you call it, every distributor has opportunities for internal growth and the technology exists to turn this problem into a revenue generator.
On average, 30 to 40 percent of a distributor's inventory falls into the category of dead stock and is contradictory to the basic premise of what makes a distributor successful -- turning around inventory quickly and for a profit. Fortunately technology is available to solve the problem of dead stock by matching buyers and sellers in real time and at a very low cost. |

| By Syed Kamal |
Integrated Distribution Management focuses on the order and distribution processes that help distribution businesses win and keep customers. It connects suppliers, distributors, customers, and your internal operations to optimize processes across functional boundaries.
Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), a key component of this Integrated Distribution Management system, allows the vendor or manufacturer direct insight into the supply requirements of the customer, thereby allowing them to react quickly to changing supply demand. The key decision is to know what, when and how much inventory to purchase, without building excess inventory, while preventing stock-outs. |

Gross Profit Optimization Over Continually Cleansed Data |
Attend Now |
| By Price Management Speakers- Infor |
| Imperfect product data can erode your gross margin, frustrate your customers, and slow new sales opportunities. The proven safeguards are automated data cleansing, systematic management of your data processes, and margin optimization. While pricing is one of the more significant variables affecting a distributor’s profitability, relatively few dollars have been spent automating the modeling process for both “cost” and “margin” optimization. Most distributors have developed and maintain extensive pricing schemas in their operational systems and create reports to analyze events long after the facts are available; however, the ability to truly analyze and model costs, sell prices, promotions, rebates, charge backs and other key attributes proactively – before the facts are in -- has been more elusive. Meaningful cost and margin modeling starts with clean data. Companies have found that without normalized and standardized data, many other corporate initiatives (including pricing). |
